i hope the nfl schedule makers choke on thier kielbasa.i understand the formulas involved in how the schedule is made but honestly the bolts schedule isnt a reward for last years success its a near death sentence.after that sunday nighter with little eli the bolts go to new england then home on monday night with the steelers then at oakland and at philadelphia.new england is beatable early so thats a break.the steelers have to travel here and this team hasnt been on mnf in years so the steelers come into a hornets nest. the raiders will be tough at home but they can be beat and at philly will be real tough.my prediction is 10-6 and the playoffs.~RG

Rox, the Charger schedule is MURDER. They'll be lucky to play .500 ball with that schedule. Road games at NE, NYJ, Phily, & Indy not to mention always tough games at Denv, KC, & Oak.

your right whormoan and i think its intentional.follow me here.just as we were about to play the jets in the playoffs the bolts hired jim steeg as team VP and put him in charge of negotiating a new stadium deal with the movers and shakers in town.ex clinton lawyer mark fabiani has been here 3 years working on legal issues once the stadium issue is put before the voters.back to jim steeg. for many years he was in the nfl front office working with the commissioner but his job was getting the superbowl together.that was his only duty.the big game was put together by this guy and he did a great job. the spanos family offered him 5 times what he was getting working for the nfl.this was a bitter war of words between tagliabue and dean spanos.so steeg took the job and now hes the "official friendly face"of the san diego chargers in all matters dealing with both city hall and the public.this schedule has to be payback for the bad blood between bolts ownership and the big guy in new york.this is my opinion but i bet im right.isnt that messed up?~RG

Your conspiracy theory is very solid. Anyone who thinks the schedule is made "at random" is nuts. Chargers got every call, bounce, break, and avoided injury last yr. Noone is a bigger Bolt fan than I, but I don't realistically see them back in the post-season this yr unless the rest of the division falls flat on their face. KC will be scary this season if everyone is healthy.

just realize who is the Bolts HC and that he is good enough to cost the team a few games all by himself. that last game of the season is something with my beloved Broncos making a trip down near Whormoan and Roxy. only thing is by that point in time it is very likely BOTH teams will be long out of playoff contention

dont underestimate drew brees. hes commited to meeting the challenge that last year wasnt a fluke. and if he falters at all rivers will be starting. if that happens then its back to 4-12.we need a pass rusher in the draft and maybe a safety but aside from marty this team is for real. jake plummer is older and he wasnt that consistent anyway. kc still has a weak defense and the offense has gotten older. the raiders need a hell of alot more than moss and a younger defense would help.the acf west belongs to the bolts and it all depends on drew brees to be for real.winky for what its worth i sent a columnist at the denver post a nasty email for a brutal story he wrote about jake plummer last season.this guy was evil and hatefull so i had to defend jake. i wish id kept that email it was brilliant!

Rox, you are right about the Bolts desperately needing a pass-rusher. However, if they draft that stiff, Cody, out of Oklahoma, who did absolutely nothing in the Orange Bowl, it will be a pick wasted. I would actually love if they could package their 2 1st rdrs to move up and get Edwards or Williams. McCardell and Parker are decent at best #2 WR's at this point. We need a stud who can stretch the defense deep (preferably Edwards). The safety out of Georgia would also be a real nice fit if still around when we pick.
